How We Can Help You?

Dear SAPCC staff,
We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Springfield Area Parent Child Center for offering the free parenting program “Positive Discipline,” which we participated in earlier this fall.  As the parents of a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, we appreciated not only the advice and techniques offered in the series of  books about Positive Discipline, but the insight shared with us by the experienced moms leading the group.   In particular we found the advice about “encouragement” vs. blanket “praise” to be very helpful.  Also, as suggested we have found that if our children are allowed to participate in developing the solution to a problem, they are more likely to accept the outcome.
We would also like to thank Kay, the wonderful woman who cared for the children (at no expense to us) during the classes. This allowed both of us to participate in the program.  Our son still speaks of her fondly.
  We
are looking forward to participating in future programs pertinent to our family’s needs as our children grow.

Sincerely,
A

Dear SAPCC staff,

As a first time parent, six years ago, I received a Welcome Baby visit from one of your staff along with a gift and information on caring for my newborn.

The staff at the Parent Child Center have been so wonderful since that first meeting. When my daughter was four-years-old and I was ready to consider a preschool program for her, the PCC’s PlayWorks program was ideal.  The teachers were wonderful and my daughter learned so much from her preschool experience.

I am now a registered Family Home Childcare provider and receive wonderful support from the Child Care Services staff.  They provide quick answers to my questions over the phone, they come by to visit my program and offer hands-on support as well as hosting evening training and continuing education opportunities.

I am thankful for everything the Springfield Area Parent Child Center offers to the community and for everyone who is a part of it.

Sincerely,
Holly Cole of Holly’s Hugs-N-Kisses (Springfield)

We moved here right after my daughter was recovering from a severe illness and needed therapy. SAPCC staff quickly coordinated the physical, speech and developmental therapy, a visiting nurse and consultation with a nutritionist. Everyone was wonderful to work with and included me in all the decision making. The SAPCC became our lifeline in this new community.
